We want every guest to have a smooth and enjoyable stay at Shark Reef Resort. Below are answers to the most common questions we receive.


Because we are a family-owned, limited-service property, we encourage guests to review this page before booking to ensure our accommodations are the right fit.

Reservations can be made directly through our website by clicking “Book Now.” Booking direct provides the most accurate availability and property information.


Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.


Late check-in may be available for arrivals after 10:00 PM. Please contact the office in advance to make arrangements.


Please note that up to two days prior to arrival, the first night’s stay may be authorized on the card on file. Declined authorizations may result in cancellation.


No. Shark Reef Resort does not guarantee reservations made through third-party websites.


We strongly recommend booking directly through our website or by calling the property to ensure accurate availability, policies, and fees.


Yes. A two-night minimum stay is required for holidays and special events. For the Fourth of July, a three-night minimum stay applies.


No. Shark Reef Resort is a family-owned, limited-service property. We do not operate as a full-service hotel or resort.


Our front office hours are limited, and the office may be locked outside of those times. Guests may use the doorbell if assistance is needed.


Each room type has a maximum occupancy limit, which is strictly enforced. Please review room descriptions carefully before booking to ensure the accommodation fits your group.


Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in additional charges or cancellation without refund.


No. Only registered guests are permitted on the property. Visitors who are not included on the reservation are not allowed.


Yes. Quiet hours are enforced to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests. Excessive noise, music, or disruptive behavior is not permitted at any time.


No. Shark Reef Resort is a quiet, family-friendly property. Parties, events, and disruptive behavior are not permitted.


Guests who violate property rules, occupancy limits, or create disturbances may be asked to leave the property without refund.


Yes. We allow dogs up to 25 lbs in select pet-friendly rooms with a $10 per pet, per night charge.


Pets may not be left unattended in the room unless they are secured in a kennel or crate. Additional pet rules and fees apply. Guests are responsible for reviewing and complying with all pet policies prior to booking.


We do! Mary owns Salgs Services, a petsitting business in Port Aransas that offers in-home petsitting. She can be reached at Mary@SalgsServices.com or www.salgsservices.com.


Yes. A deposit is required at check-in. Guests must provide either a $100 cash deposit or a $125 authorization on a credit or debit card.


Yes. During the month of March, all guests ages 18–25 are required to provide a $100 CASH-ONLY deposit at check-in. This deposit is refunded at check-out after the room has been inspected. This deposit is PER PERSON.


There are no exceptions to this policy.


Payment policies vary by reservation. In some cases, the first night’s stay may be authorized or charged prior to arrival. Please review your confirmation email for specific payment details.


Yes. Guests must be at least 18 years of age with a valid government-issued ID to rent a room.


A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel reservations on standard dates. Special events require a 7-day cancellation notice.

Reservations made through third-party websites are subject to the 7-day cancellation policy. Third-party bookings may also include additional fees. Guests are encouraged to book direct to avoid these fees.



No. Refunds are not provided for early departures, unused nights, or changes made outside the cancellation window.


Guests are asked to contact the property if they are unable to arrive by 6:00 PM on the day of arrival.


If we do not hear from the guest by noon on the arrival date, the card on file may be authorized prior to 6:00 PM. Any declined authorization may result in cancellation.


If we attempt to contact you and miss your call, please leave a voicemail and we will return it as soon as possible.


Yes. Shark Reef Resort is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted in rooms or indoor areas.

A Quick Note to Our Guests:

  • We require a valid credit card to book
  • Shark Reef Resort requires 2 days in advance for standard cancels, and 7 days for special events
  • Canceling after this timeframe is nonrefundable
  • Booking third party (Expedia, Booking, Etc.) will automatically place you within the 7-day nonrefundable cancel policy. These websites always incur resort fees.
